Energice International are specialists in Dry Ice Cleaning.
Dry ice-cleaning is also known as carbon dioxide (CO2) cleaning. It is a modern and preferred method of cleaning all types of equipment including rotating industrial equipment such as compressors, pumps and electric motors. The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) recommends dry ice blasting as an alternative to many types of solvent-based cleaning in food applications.
At Energice, Dry ice is ordered and stored specifically for each cleaning project/job. It is stored in the solid form of carbon dioxide and taken to site in coolers. The storage period of the ice is limited therefore good project/time planning is essential.
In application, Dry Ice is accelerated in a pressurised air stream and directed at the surface to be cleaned. The basic method is similar to other forms of abrasive blasting such as sand and grit blasting whereby dry ice is substituted for the sand/grit blasting medium.
Dry-ice blasting leaves no chemical residue as dry ice sublimates at room temperature. The only residue material from the cleaning process is the removed contaminants (rust particles, paint and debris).
